Vacancy: Choir Manager

Following the departure of our administrator and soprano Becky Ryland-Strobel (née Ryland-Jones), we have a vacancy for an expanded role of Choir Manager.

Profile
- 2 or more years’ experience of managing professional ensembles and around 5 or more years’ career experience
- Strong knowledge of the UK choral scene, through singing and managing experience
Main responsibilities
- Diary management including scheduling rehearsals and projects (concert, recordings etc)
- Lead comms with the choir about projects/activity and choir members’ main point of contact for the same
(The Commitee support with comms on wider membership matters) - Fixing singers for all projects
- Sourcing music for all projects (including delivery to rehearsals and return of scores to hirers or storage after)
- Liaison with venues, hirers and other contacts
- Invoicing and making payments
- Recruitment/auditioning process management – coordinating and communicating with applicants
- Managing venue access for rehearsals and some concerts, also set-up and set-down (assisted by choir members)
- Building relationships across the industry with a view to helping Epiphoni raise its profile over the coming five years
The role is supported by a Committee, but the above list could more simply be described as “everything the conductor doesn’t do”!
