Book launch – Symphonies for the Soul by Oliver Condy

6:45 pm, Thu 2 December 2021

Hatchards, Piccadilly

Join us for an evening of classical music and nourishment for the soul with musician Oliver Condy, broadcaster James Naughtie and the Epiphoni Consort  as we celebrate the publication of “Symphonies for the Soul” – a book of remedy and fulfilment:

Taking the role of musical physician, Oliver uses his years of experience to prescribe remedies for all manner of ailments in the form of classical music. Along the way he tells the fascinating stories behind each piece and the composers selected, and how in their own unique ways they can nourish the spirit.

Oliver will be in conversation with James Naughtie, composer of the book’s introduction and, as part of the discussion, we will hear musical quotations from the glorious Epiphoni Consort:

My Spirit Sang All Day (Finzi)
Lux Aurumque (Whitacre)
Lux Aeterna (Elgar)
Bethlehem Down (Warlock)
Flow my Tears (Dowland)
